Como Zoo//Part 1

Happy New Year's Eve people! This post is part 1 of the Zoo that we went to in Minneapolis (I'm so behind on posts!). As usual I had too many pictures that I want to post so I thought I'd do it two sections because the zoo had to parts to it. This bit is the flowers/birds/sloth/turtle part. I actually really enjoy looking around all the plants and foliage parts of zoo's, maybe it's years of being dragged around garden centres and flower shows with dad and nana?

I had so much fun with Lori and Cambria walking round all the different rooms and just taking our time and having fun. We sat down in one of the rooms and just ended up sitting for ages and chatting, it was really nice. We even saw a sloth! Iv never seen one in real life, she was so cute!! And she moved, which apparently doesn't happen very often in the day, so that was cool to see. I love turtles, there so fascinating so I had fun watching this little guy sit on the rock in the mist rising from the water. I can't believe that the whole zoo was free!? That would not happen in the UK, and it was huge too. It was such a great day out, even if we did freeze our butts off!

Tonight I'm dancing in the new year to Fall Out Boy and baking S'more Cake in the kitchen before we head to Danny's sisters house. I usually hate New Years, and I can feel that 'ugh' feeling inside but the great thing about being in someone else's house is that you have to push it to the side and enjoy yourself anyway. I could guarantee if I was at home, I'd be sat on the sofa with a sour face just wishing it was over, so this year is quite a difference! So happy new year guys, hope you all have fun tonight!

Merry Christmas//Chicago Holidays

This year is my first Christmas away from home, family and friends. I started this post with the thought in mind of saying how much I will miss everyone today and how sad I am that I'm not there with them, to give presents to people (I love giving presents), to eat with my family, to give T a big Christmassy kiss, to spend Max's first Christmas with him...but I'm not going to do that.

I am the luckiest girl right now, I get to spend Christmas in America on the trip of a life time, with two fantastic people who have just been amazing and so generous letting me stay with them on an important holiday. I get to spend Christmas in Chicago with snow and real cold, not horrible wet English cold, and eat cinnamon rolls for breakfast, watch crappy Christmas shows and then get hot chocolate and drive round downtown Chicago looking at all the lights and Christmassy things, then spend the evening with a family who don't even know me, but still welcome me like one of the family. So yes I miss my family but this is so amazing I'm sure I'll cope missing just one year.

So happy Christmas what ever your doing, with family, friends or complete strangers, I hope it's filled with love and joy...and if your eating Yorkshire puddings please spare a thought for me! They're my favourite and apparently there not on the menu tomorrow!

Now get of the internet and open them presents!

Psycho Suzi's//Cocktail Hour

I'm sorry that these posts are not in time order but to celebrate my last night in Minneapolis Lori, Cambria and Me went to a really cool restaurant called Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge. It was such a great place and the food and drink was amazing! I had a pulled pork sandwich which was...oh my gosh...just mmmmm! And tots! Oh glorious tots, I can't believe we don't have them in England! I'm getting hungry just think about it. It was really sad to know that the next day I'd be leaving but we had so much fun together so it was sort of bitter sweet. We sat at the back of the restaurant away from everyone under a really creepy Santa head haha! We had a really cool waiters with awesome tattoos but I think we scared her a little bit becuase she kept looking at us weird...whoops. I had the most amazing cocktail I've ever had. I can't remember what it was called but iv requested that we go back in January just so I can have another one! I loved this bar so much, I'm just going to add it to my list of reasons to move to America.

Today was cold. Really cold. This morning we went to church and it was great, I haven't been to church for so long so it was really refreshing to be around all that again. In the afternoon we braved the cold and went for a walk around a nearby town and got the best Hot Chocolate in the world ever, like seriously good, basically just melted chocolate. Tomorrow I think will be a day in, catching up on the blog, editing some photos and watchg Christmas TV snuggled under a blanket with a mug of tea. Puuuurfect.

Threads//Minneapolis Winter

So this is the first and might be the last outfit post that iv managed to get, as stated in the previous post I have no tri-pod so outfit posts are hard to get, but Lori snapped these shots for me the other day. It was so cold, hence the huge coat. It's really hard to get good outfits together on a road trip when all you bring is practical, comfy clothes. I really love that coat though, it's from T.K Maxx and it's a one off, I saw it out the corner of my eye when shopping for an 'America' coat, it's an XL and it's mahoosive but I loved it so much that I just had to get it! The scarf is one of my favourites too, it's so warm and it does that cool wrap thing which makes it all big and poofy (if that makes any sense!) I had to buy a new bag over here because the one I bought with me turned out to be away too small for carrying my cameras and things around with me, but I love the one that I bought, it's from Target and oh my goodness is Target not the greatest thing in the world? I'm going to be so upset when I get home and we have no Target...I might cry. I'm gonna try and take some more outfit posts around Chicago because it's so beautiful and hopefully there will be some easy places to rest my camera!

Mall Of America//Shopping Date

While I was in Minneapolis Lori, Cambria and I took a little trip to the Mall of America for some girly shopping, it was magical! I love shopping, I'm not gonna lie, so I was pretty excited. Mall of America is huge, like huuge! I don't think iv ever seen so many shops under one roof haha! There was a theme park IN the middle of the Mall...why? Who does that? We had such a great day looking at all the nice things, it was good because we all have sort of the same taste in clothes and things so it was fun to pick out things for each other.

I have an obsession with Urban Outfitters. It's unhealthy but I can't stop, and I was really excited to go to one in America. I always go on the US website and pine over all the lovely things they have which cost a bomb to have shipped to the UK, so I kinda went a little crazy. I can't wait to go to the huge one in New York and I had to keep telling myself to save some stuff for then haha! But I did get a really awesome jacket for way way cheap. I can't wait to get home and do some outfit posts with the stuff that iv bought, I'm a little bummed that I can't really do any here because I have the worst tri-pod in he world and can't use it for taking good pictures, but oh well!

There was also the biggest Lego shop iv ever seen and it was awesome. I might have squeed a little bit at the massive wall of Lego pods and the giant Sabertooth Tiger. Me and Lori were also hunting for the Dinosaur shop that had just opened, we were super super excited and it looked like the entrance to Jurrasic Park. How awesome is at!? The inside was a little disappointing because it was tiny and very pricey. Also, Hot Topic happened and it was the greatest shopping experience in my life, everything fandom that I love under one roof, I was in geek heaven. It was also buy one get on half price on everything, but it would of been a hassle to get things home so I had to only get a few things. I can't wait to show you all though, it's pretty awesome.

We had a such a great day and I loved spending time with my girls, I'm so lucky that iv made some of the best friends in the world in such a short space of time. I can't wait to go back in January and see them both again and have more fun times together! At the moment I'm in Chicago and it is beautiful, iv spent the first two days here watching Netfix, baking Ninja Bread cookies and catching up on bloggin, so tomorrow I'm going to venture out and explore St Charles a bit.

Minneapolis Science Museum//Lori and Holly

I can't believe this is my first post after Kentucky! We've been super super busy here in the Twin Cities and I am loving every second of it! I still can't believe that I'm here with Lori, in America, at her house, sitting with her dog...it's so surreal! It's just amazing what blogging can do and if nothing ever comes from it then at least I found one of my best friends through it. The first day I was here we went to the Minneapolis Science Museum to go geek out at the dinosaurs, it was so much fun! I got to see my favourite dinosaur, which I've never seen before in real life, so cool! I can't believe we spent 4 hours in there, there really wasn't that much stuff to look at, but we had so much fun playing with all the interactive science experiments. We also spent a while chatting to the museum employees at the treasure corner. It made me want to live in St Paul so bad because they had a swap system, where you collect things like nature/bones/bugs and things and then swap them for points, and when you have collected enough points you can purchase things like skulls and geodes and other cool things! England really lacks in things I'm interested in, which is such a downer. I'm definitely an American at heart haha! I'm having such an amazing time here in the Twin Cities, and I'm going to be so so when it's time to leave. I'v met so many amazing people and made some friends for life. More blog posts coming soon when I get chance to edit some pictures, we've got a jam packed weekend ahead so at the moment I'm just taking as many pictures as I can.
