Day Trip To York

Yesterday the day trip to York was so good! I had such a great time, and it was nice to get out the house and out of Southport for a day. It took us about 2 hours to get there and it was so foggy on the roads. It was quite scary, we couldn't see anything in front of us, it was like we were right up in the clouds. I rained nearly all the way there but luckily the sun came out for us once we arrived. We went to the Jorvik Viking Center. It was so much fun! You go on these mini tram things and it takes you through a typical Viking town and it tells you all about it, it was so good, apart from the waxworks...they seriously creeped me out!!

York is such a beautiful place, full of old Tudor buildings and such rich history. The streets are cobbled and narrow and so quaint. It's great how un-modern it is. We wondered round the little shops for ages and read all the plaques about the place we could find. Usually I hate looking like a tourist but I didn't care that day haha! We had lunch in this gorgeous little pub with all the old beams showing and really low ceilings, it was cool to sit there and pretend like were were back in the old days :P The streets names were cool too! Things like 'Shambles' 'Little Shambles' and my favourtie 'Finkle Street'. I wish I had taken more photos, but I had really bad tummy ache and it was rather chilly on my little fingers! I can't wait till the weather gets warmer so I don't need gloves to use my camera. Unfortunately it only seems to be getting colder and colder here :( So tonight I'm wrapping up warm and settling on the sofa to watch Stargate Atlantis (nearly finished the whole series *sob*) and having a nice big mug of tea! Hope you have a great Thursday!! Much love
